52.32Intermediation service activities for passenger transportation

Description

  • This class includes the intermediation of passenger transport, by bringing clients and service providers together for a fee or commission, without the intermediary providing the passenger transport services that are intermediated. These intermediation activities can be carried out on digital platforms or through non-digital channels (including face-to-face, door-to-door, telephone, mail, and so on). The fee or commission can be received from either the client or the provider of the passenger transport service. Revenue for the intermediation activities can include other sources of income (for example, revenues from the sale of advertising space).
  • This class includes: - operation of online ride-sharing platforms that allow passengers to book a ride - provision of intermediation services for the purchase of land, water or air transport for passengers - brokerage of passenger seats in ships and aircraft space
  • This class also includes: - intermediation of transport by radio taxi services, without providing transport - fee-based reservation services for passenger transport
  • This class excludes: - taxi operation and other passenger road transport, see 49.3 - rail, ship and aircraft freight brokerage, see 52.31 - operation of online platforms for the rental of vehicles (cars, motorcycles, etc.) without a driver, see 77.51 - units that provide reservation services alongside additional travel advice or expertise, see 79.11 - combined activities of accommodation, travel and food, i.e. travel agencies and tour operators, see 79.11, 79.12
